Do you clean tile and metal roofs too?
Tile, shake (cedar) and asphalt shingle — yes, we soft-wash all of those, matching the mix to the material. Metal is the one exception: we can clean a metal roof that has a coating on it (some carry an asphalt coating), but we don’t clean bare metal roofs — those need a specialty product we don’t carry, and they’re too hot and too slick to work safely. We never pressure wash shingles — high pressure strips granules and voids roof warranties. Safe roof cleaning is the only kind we do.
What actually happens on the day you clean my roof?
Prep first, because it is the most important part: the crew gets on the roof and blows off all the leaves and debris. Every downspout is bagged so the solution never reaches your drains, and a second crew member stays on the ground keeping plants wet. Then the solution goes on — corners and the roofline first, then a light, even layer over the rest, section by section. It sits and does its work. Will the black streaks be gone the same day?
Not completely, and anyone who promises that is planning to rinse your shingles, which is how granules get stripped. Why are the streaks only on one side of my roof?
Because that side is the north side, or the shaded one. Roof algae (Gloeocapsa magma) needs moisture, and the side that gets the least sun stays damp longest after dew and rain. The south side dries out and stays clean. If you are seeing dark streaks on the north face, that is the trigger to have it treated before it spreads.
Is the roof price based on my house’s square footage?

The only thing that changes the rate is whether the home is single-story or two-story; size changes the total, not the rate.
